Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Liberman published the party's complete election list Sunday evening, placing Dan Illouz in the 10th slot after earlier reports that he had been dropped. The 15-candidate list includes bereaved father Rafi Ben Shitrit, Col. (res.) Talia Lankri, Sharon Sharabi (brother of hostages), and new MK Lili Ben Ami, according to the party's official roster.
This evening, Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Liberman published the party's complete election slate, placing MK Dan Illouz in the 10th slot — a reversal of earlier reports that he had been dropped from the list. The 15-candidate roster includes new faces: bereaved father Rafi Ben Shitrit, Col. (res.) Talia Lankri, and Sharon Sharabi, brother of the kidnapped Sharabi brothers, as well as MK Lili Ben Ami at the 11th spot.
The evening's developments unfolded rapidly. At 20:23, Liberman unveiled a preliminary list highlighting the new candidates but not addressing Illouz's status. At 20:29, The Zioneer reported, citing party sources, that Illouz had been omitted from that list. By 20:47, the final published list restored Illouz and added six additional candidates: Yevgeny Sova, Elvira Kolikhman, Yael Banvenishti, David Azoulai, Limor Magen, and Israel Ben Shitrit.
The Zioneer has previously reported on tensions within Yisrael Beiteinu. On August 5, Liberman told new MK Lili Ben Ami to 'shut up until the elections' after she criticized party leadership. On July 8, Col. (res.) Talia Lankri officially joined the party and endorsed Liberman for prime minister. The party runs on a secular-nationalist platform emphasizing security and opposition to Haredi political influence.
The reasons for Illouz's initial exclusion and subsequent reinstatement were not explained by party officials. The list is subject to final approval by the Central Elections Committee.
