This follows the official re-establishment ceremony held earlier Thursday at 09:36 Jerusalem, attended by Defense Minister Israel Katz and Communications Minister Shlomo Kariv, as The Zioneer reported. Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan recited the traditional settlement blessing and declared: "Ganim is ours, we have returned again — and this time forever."
The Zioneer first reported on Aug 10 that the Samaria Regional Council planned the re-establishment for Thursday, with a family nucleus slated to ascend to the site and a branch of Yeshivat Bnei David of Eli to be established there.
Ganim was among the communities evacuated in the 2005 disengagement. Its re-establishment marks a new phase of Jewish settlement in northern Samaria.
