Eliasi's suspension was ordered by Police Commissioner Danny Levi on July 30, following a Haaretz investigation that alleged he exploited his position as commander of the Tel Aviv district emergency squad to benefit the entertainment complex. The Haaretz investigation included recordings of Eliasi boasting about using his connections to prevent the venue's closure after a violent incident.
The summons for a hearing signals the next step in the police disciplinary process, separate from the criminal investigation being conducted by Mahash.
