Police helicopters have been deployed to assist in the search for Yuval Kogan, 4, who has been missing since Thursday. The police commissioner stated that intensive efforts have been ongoing and that a child does not disappear in Israel without reason.
The search for Yuval Kogan, 4, entered its second day Friday with police helicopters sweeping Ashkelon and the sea front. Police Commissioner Danny Levy said the effort has been continuous throughout the night and day, adding that "a child does not disappear in Israel just like that."
Levy directed cadets from the police college and Border Police trainees to join the ground search, expanding the force deployed. The father, Dima Kogan, told reporters that Yuval was walking just behind his shoulder near the beach before vanishing, and urged investigators to consider a criminal angle. "A child cannot disappear like that for no reason," he said.
Police have not yet classified the incident as a criminal or terror-related event, and no concrete leads have been reported. The search continues with helicopters, drones, and ground teams scouring the Ashkelon coastline and surrounding areas.
