The search for 4-year-old Yuval Kogan, missing in Ashkelon since late July, escalated Friday afternoon as Police Commissioner Danny Levi ordered the full activation of all police units, means, and capabilities. The directive, issued after a situation assessment at the forward command post, instructs that every available resource be deployed until the child is located. Hundreds of police officers, Border Police fighters, volunteers, and rescue forces are currently conducting a coordinated search by sea, air, and land near Hof Chofit Beach, according to the Police Spokesperson, as reported by N12 journalist Itai Gal-On.
Friday morning saw a series of rapid escalations in the search effort. At 11:17 AM, a senior official arrived in Ashkelon, met with the parents, and ordered reinforcements, vowing, 'We will not let up for a moment.' Shortly thereafter, Commissioner Levi arrived at the beach command post for a situation assessment. He then ordered the mobilization of all police college cadets and Border Police to join the hundreds of officers already in the field. The latest order now activates all remaining units, including specialized capabilities.
As The Zioneer reported earlier, the Israel Prison Service had already deployed its Tzur unit—responsible for supervising sex offenders—as well as drone teams and district units, following an instruction from Prisons Commissioner Kobi Yaacobi. Separately, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir visited the area and met with the family, after the father told him 'there is something fishy here that I cannot understand.' Ben Gvir responded that he would likely meet with the Shin Bet director.
The child's whereabouts remain unknown. The search continues with all available resources. No further details have been released regarding the circumstances of his disappearance.
