The fatal hit-and-run occurred around 01:00 on the road between Yokneam and Elyakim in northern Israel. The motorcyclist, a 26-year-old resident of Gedera, sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medics from Magen David Adom, according to a separate MDA statement. Police officers located a burning vehicle nearby, believed to have been set alight by the fleeing driver. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of causing death, leaving the scene, and arson. The Northern District traffic investigation unit is gathering evidence and witness statements. The victim's identity has not yet been released for publication. This incident is separate from a non-fatal rollover crash on Route 5066 near Yaqir earlier the same night, in which a 46-year-old man was moderately injured and evacuated to Beilinson Hospital.
