Soldiers from the Givati Reconnaissance Unit identified two armed Hezbollah operatives posing a threat near the security zone on the Ali al-Taher ridge Wednesday afternoon. The Israeli Air Force and ground troops struck to remove the threat, the IDF said.
The IDF confirmed Wednesday afternoon that its forces struck two armed Hezbollah operatives at the Ali al-Taher ridge in southern Lebanon. According to the military, soldiers from the Givati Reconnaissance Unit operating in the area identified the gunmen, who belonged to the Hezbollah terror organization and posed a threat to troops near the security zone. The Israeli Air Force and ground forces engaged the operatives immediately after the identification, eliminating the threat. The ridge has been a flashpoint for weeks: as The Zioneer reported, Hezbollah has repeatedly claimed to have fired anti-tank missiles at IDF forces in the area, and the military has previously killed Hezbollah operatives there who crossed the Yellow Line using civilian cover. The IDF said it would continue to act against immediate threats.
