01 · THE DISPATCH

On Saturday evening, an Iranian the source published what it describes as the first image from the grave of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The image, posted via a single Persian-language account, has not been independently verified. The development follows a series of unverified reports and footage related to Khamenei's burial, which The Zioneer has tracked since late June.

The Zioneer's coverage of the burial process began on June 30 with reports of Khamenei's body being exhumed from a temporary grave in Qom. On July 4, ynet documented coffins of Khamenei and family members. On July 8, footage emerged of protesters at the funeral, and a satirical post mocked the proceedings. On July 9, The Zioneer reported a rapid sequence of events: final burial preparations reported by Fars, burial in the Dar al-Dhikr section, final burial concluded, construction of a permanent burial plaza in Mashhad, state media footage confirming the burial site, and unverified claims of elimination. Later that day, a Telegram post provided the exact location of the grave. On July 10, additional footage of the grave circulated, and authorities called for citizens to visit. The new image adds to this body of material but remains unverified, with no official confirmation from Iranian authorities.

The Zioneer has previously reported on the broader context of Khamenei's death and burial, including the funeral procession across Iran and Iraq and the final interment in the Imam Reza shrine complex. The image purportedly shows the grave site, but its provenance and authenticity have not been established.

The authenticity of the image and its source remain unconfirmed. No Iranian state media outlet has acknowledged the image, and the account that posted it has not been linked to any official channel. The Zioneer continues to monitor for additional corroboration.
