Ambassador Yechiel Leiter issued a statement Wednesday evening thanking the IDF and the medical team at Jerusalem's Shaare Zedek Medical Center, who are fighting for the life of his son Nerya Dov ben Chana. Nerya Leiter was seriously wounded in a Palestinian terror attack in the Binyamin region on Wednesday evening, as The Zioneer reported earlier. The ambassador expressed faith in the power of prayer and national unity, stating that 'when the people of Israel unite, miracles happen.' He noted that Nerya continued to serve in the reserves after losing his older brother, IDF soldier Moshe Yedidya Leiter, who fell in Gaza earlier in the war. Nerya had accumulated hundreds of reserve days since October 7. Leiter described Palestinian terrorism as aiming to uproot the people of Israel from its land, and concluded: 'They choose death—we choose life.' The ambassador is returning to Israel to be with his son, as The Zioneer reported.
