Minister Gila Gamliel, a member of the security cabinet, stated Monday that the Israel Defense Forces retain full freedom of action to strike anywhere in Lebanon, including Beirut, against emerging threats. In an interview with the 'Kol Barama' radio station, she said: 'The IDF can also strike in Beirut.'
Gamliel further asserted that Israel will not withdraw from the territory it has captured in Lebanon — extending to the Beaufort Castle and the Litani River — until Hezbollah is disarmed. 'We will not leave the territories we captured in Lebanon until Hezbollah disarms,' she said.
