01 · THE DISPATCH
Binyamin Hassin, an Israeli citizen born in Iraqi Kurdistan, was freed on Wednesday after more than a decade in Iraqi prison, as The Zioneer reported earlier today. A new message confirms he is now en route to Israel. Hassin had been sentenced to death in 2020, but the sentence was commuted following a November 2025 reconciliation (sulha) with the family of a driver who died in a 2015 incident. He is expected to arrive in Israel shortly.
