Two Israeli sources told CNN that the Trump administration does not want Israel to intervene in the ongoing conflict, out of concern that it would lead to a loss of control over the fighting, according to a report by N12.
The report, published by N12 on Friday afternoon, quotes two unnamed Israeli officials who spoke to CNN. The sources said the Trump administration fears that direct Israeli involvement would escalate the conflict beyond Washington's ability to manage.
The Zioneer has previously reported on the Trump administration's stance toward the conflict. On June 8, a senior U.S. official told CBS that the administration ordered the military not to take defensive action to protect Israel from Iranian missiles. President Trump stated on June 11 that Israel was not involved in strikes on Iran. On June 14, Trump reportedly asked Iran not to retaliate for a Beirut strike. The new report suggests Washington continues to seek to limit Israeli involvement as the confrontation intensifies.
