Danon alleged that Gamba attempted to silence Israel during the debate and presented posts from her X account that he said reflect anti-Israel bias and antisemitism. The accusation is the latest in a series of confrontations between Danon and senior UN officials. As The Zioneer reported on Wednesday night, Danon previously presented evidence of alleged antisemitism by a senior UNDOF official, and earlier clashed with UN officials over sexual violence allegations against Israel. On June 20, Danon revealed what he called a serious bias by Vanessa Frazier, a different UN representative for children and armed conflict, and called for the resignation of Special Representative Pramila Patten on June 19.
The Israeli ambassador's campaign at the UN has focused on what he describes as systemic anti-Israel bias within the organization. The claims against Gamba, who serves as the Secretary-General's point person on children in armed conflict, add to a growing list of allegations Danon has leveled against UN officials.
