The Zioneer has identified the victim of Wednesday's fatal road accident in Moldova as Avreich Akiva Rand, 29, from Jerusalem's Chernobyl Hasidic community. According to the B.D.H. emergency network, two other avreichim who were traveling with him to visit graves of tzadikim (righteous sages) were injured. The crash occurred Wednesday evening, hours before the report, and its cause remains unconfirmed.

The Zioneer first reported the accident at 17:22 Jerusalem, citing an unverified social media report of a young Jerusalem resident killed. Within moments, at 17:22, we updated: Israeli media confirmed the death of an Israeli man in his 30s, and ZAKA Europe commander Nahman Dikshtein said the organization was assisting the family. By 17:22 (the same timestamp in our thread records), we further reported that Dikshtein was on the scene coordinating the transfer of the deceased to burial in Israel. The victim's identity and Hasidic affiliation emerged in this update.

As The Zioneer reported at 17:41 Jerusalem from background records, ZAKA Europe commander Nahman Dikshtein is personally handling the case, assisting the family and working to expedite the repatriation of the body to Israel.
