The suspect in Friday’s ramming at Havat Tomer in eastern Gush Etzion has been identified as a known left-wing activist who previously harassed soldiers at the Evyatar junction, Israel Hayom reporter Ariel Kahana reported. The activist drove to the farm on Friday afternoon and ran over a resident—the farm owner—who approached him to ask why he was filming. She is now hospitalized.
As The Zioneer reported in a series of updates on Friday, beginning at 14:31 Jerusalem time, the incident initially emerged as a suspected far-left activist deliberately ramming a woman and her husband. Police soon clarified it was a criminal incident, not a security-related attack. Subsequent reports said two people were lightly injured, including a female settler, and the suspect was identified as a 90-year-old far-left activist who had attempted to run over soldiers at the entrance to Evyatar in September 2025. The suspect was detained and his vehicle seized. Friday’s new identification confirms that the 90-year-old suspect is the same individual who had been active at Evyatar.
The Zioneer previously reported the 90-year-old activist’s prior attempt to run over soldiers at Evyatar, noting that his license was not revoked at that time. The incident at Havat Tomer is the latest in a series of confrontations involving left-wing activists and Jewish settlers in the area.
The victim’s exact condition and whether criminal charges have been filed remain unclear. Investigators are still piecing together the precise sequence of events at the farm.
