Opposition leader Yair Lapid thanked outgoing Yesh Atid MK Yoav Segalovitz for his contribution to the party and the country, and wished him well, according to N12's Dafna Liel.
Opposition leader Yair Lapid released a statement this evening thanking Yesh Atid MK Yoav Segalovitz for his service, following Segalovitz's announcement that he is leaving the party.
As The Zioneer reported earlier tonight, Segalovitz informed Lapid of his departure before the finalization of an agreement with the Ra'am party. Lapid's response tonight — "I thank him for his contribution to Yesh Atid and the State of Israel and wish him success in his future path" — strikes a gracious tone, closing the chapter on Segalovitz's tenure in the centrist faction.
Segalovitz, a former police major general and founder of the Lahav 433 unit, had been a key figure in Yesh Atid's security portfolio. His departure reshapes the party's Knesset lineup ahead of the Ra'am deal.
