According to Abu Ali Express, his body was wrapped in a Palestinian flag and a flag of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
Okamoto died Thursday at age 78. He was the sole survivor of the attack, in which three Japanese gunmen killed 24 people at what was then Lod Airport (now Ben Gurion Airport). He served 13 years in Israeli prison before being released in the 1985 Jibril prisoner exchange and settled in Beirut's Dahieh neighborhood, where he lived until his death. The PFLP published an obituary for him on Thursday.
The funeral is being reported by a single source; details on attendance and further ceremony are not yet available.
