As The Zioneer reported earlier Thursday, Illouz was expected to resign and be succeeded by a Haredi representative. The current report names Katesh as that representative. Illouz, who broke coalition discipline to vote against the 'Basic Law: Torah Study' in July, subsequently joined the Yisrael Beiteinu party, citing the Likud's abandonment of core principles.
The replacement requires formal approval by the Knesset House Committee, but the Likud's coalition majority is expected to facilitate the transition smoothly.
