A 71-year-old man who was pulled unconscious from the water at a Netanya beach on Saturday afternoon was evacuated in critical condition while receiving CPR, Magen David Adom reported.
The incident was first reported at 13:00, when MDA paramedics responded to a beach in Netanya for a man, initially believed to be 60, who was pulled from the water unconscious. In an update at 13:25, MDA identified the victim as a 71-year-old man and said he was evacuated to Laniado Hospital in critical condition while CPR was being performed.
Paramedics Maor Branets and Yonatan Yankilevich, who arrived on an MDA ATV, said they found the patient receiving basic CPR under the guidance of the MDA 101 dispatch center. They continued treatment and evacuated him in an intensive care ambulance.
The incident is the latest in a series of drownings along Israel's coast this summer, as The Zioneer has previously reported.
