The arrest law had been opposed by the Attorney General and the Military Advocate General, who warned it would incentivize draft evasion by granting immunity from prosecution. The High Court subsequently froze the law. Ben Ari's initiative seeks to leverage the prime minister's admission to push for a permanent conscription solution.
