As The Zioneer reported on Friday, a snow avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan killed at least four people and left six missing, including the internationally known climber Nirmal Purja. An Israeli media report now confirms that Purja has been found dead.
Purja, 42, rose to global fame after climbing all 14 of the world's peaks over 8,000 meters in under seven months, a feat documented in the Netflix film '14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible.' He was attempting a winter ascent of Broad Peak, the world's 12th highest mountain, when the avalanche struck.
