The footage, captured by Kobi Richter of Israel Fire and Rescue Services, shows crews working at the scene. The release comes after firefighters were reported to have gained control of the blaze earlier this evening.
The Zioneer first reported on the fire at 18:17 Jerusalem, when a brush fire broke out in the military firing zone near Elyakim. Initial reports from the Israel Fire and Rescue Services indicated no threat to communities. At the same time, an update noted the blaze was burning in dense, complex terrain. A third report at 18:17 confirmed that firefighting crews, with the assistance of four aerial tankers, had brought the fire under control and were conducting final extinguishing operations to prevent reignition.
As The Zioneer reported, the firefighting effort involved multiple crews operating in challenging terrain. The fire did not threaten any communities.
The cause of the fire remains unconfirmed, and the full extent of the area burned has not been reported.
