This satellite confirmation validates earlier reports from Tuesday morning that Houthi strikes had hit Saudi airports and refineries, wounding 73 civilians according to Saudi authorities. The strikes indicate the Houthis' continued ability to project power deep into Saudi territory using drones and misiles, despite years of Saudi-led coalition operations.
The attacks add to a sustained campaign by the Iran-backed group against Saudi energy infrastructure. As The Zioneer reported in July, the Jazan refinery was shut down for weeks after an earlier Houthi strike. The simultaneous targeting of multiple facilities suggests a coordinated operation. Saudi authorities have not yet commented on the latest satellite data.
