An audio description of a video circulating online reports that a missile struck the center of a bridge in the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas early Friday, causing a section of the bridge to collapse. The description adds specific detail to earlier footage of the same bridge fully collapsed.
The Zioneer reported at 00:26 Jerusalem that aftermath footage released by Abu Saleh's Arabic Desk showed the bridge near Bandar Abbas fully collapsed. Earlier, at 23:30 on July 16, an unverified report indicated that a second major bridge was bombed between Bandar Abbas and Lar, halting all traffic. At 23:31, a series of reports emerged: the Iranian Fars news agency reported a US strike on a bridge in Bandar Khamir; security analyst Yair Goldblatt reported one person killed; a separate report described a fuel tanker explosion causing a partial collapse; and footage then showed the bridge fully collapsed. At 00:38, Goldblatt reported that all bridges linking Bandar Khomeini to Bandar Abbas had been attacked and disabled.
In recent days, The Zioneer has also reported on a missile strike destroying a radio station in Bandar Abbas on July 14, a US strike damaging the train station early Friday, and a suspected targeted elimination of a van on July 8. The strikes appear to be part of a broader campaign targeting transport and communication infrastructure in southern Iran, though the source of the latest bridge strike remains unconfirmed.
No casualties have been reported in connection with the bridge collapse. The identity of the party responsible for the strike is not yet confirmed.
