TL;DR

Pakistan's foreign minister said an agreement has been reached to reduce the level of Iran's enriched uranium, according to the report. Analyst Dror Balazada cautioned that the claim should be taken with limited commitment, noting that Tehran remains dissatisfied with the situation in the north and that the memorandum of understanding is not being implemented as signed.

01 · THE DISPATCH

Pakistan's foreign minister claimed Sunday that an agreement has been reached to reduce the level of Iran's enriched uranium, according to a report carried by a subscribed channel. Analyst Dror Balazada of N12, who relayed the comment, cautioned that the claim should be taken with limited commitment: "In the meantime, the Iranians are not satisfied with the situation in the north, and the memorandum of understanding is not being implemented as signed. Ultimately, the question is how this problem will be resolved."

This statement comes amid a series of conflicting reports on the emerging nuclear framework. As The Zioneer reported earlier, Iran's Foreign Minister Araghchi reiterated on Friday that the only option Tehran prefers for its enriched uranium is dilution on Iranian soil — a position he has staked out repeatedly. Pakistan has served as a key intermediary between Washington and Tehran, and the Pakistan FM's claim introduces a new element of progress at the negotiating level. However, with no official Israeli, US, or Iranian confirmation at this stage, and Balazada's explicit caveat, the claim remains unverified.

Balazada's framing echoes a pattern seen across the thread: each Pakistan FM statement has been accompanied by analyst caution. Earlier on Sunday, The Zioneer reported that the Pakistan FM said Iran is only willing to dilute its 60% enriched uranium, excluding more than 1,000 kg of 20% enriched stockpile. A previous report had noted the FM stated the enriched uranium stockpile remains buried underground, with a compromise on enrichment reduction. The absence of corroboration from other official sources persists.
