Three security guards were initially detained, and the main suspect — a resident of Abu Ghosh in his 20s — was arrested by Petah Tikva police on Thursday on suspicion of assault and attempted flight. The Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court extended his remand by four days on Thursday afternoon.
The League Administration chairman, Erez Kalfon, condemned the incident and called for the permanent revocation of the security licenses of those involved. Hapoel Petah Tikva issued a statement wishing the injured fan a speedy recovery and stating that 'the blood of the fans is not abandoned.' The investigation is ongoing.
