Israel Police on Wednesday evening authorized the publication of the identity and photograph of Liora Strasberg, 54, of Haifa, who is suspected of a series of fraud and theft offenses targeting elderly residents. According to the police statement, the investigation alleges that Strasberg stole credit cards during shared rides with victims and also gained entry to the homes of elderly individuals by falsely presenting herself as a medical service provider, stealing credit cards and other property while inside.
The publication was authorized to protect the public and to locate additional victims. Police urged anyone who may have been harmed by the suspect or who knows of additional victims to contact the Haifa station at 04-8648811 or via the 100 emergency hotline, referencing investigation file number 325372/26.
As The Zioneer reported earlier Wednesday, Strasberg is suspected of defrauding elderly residents in Haifa, including a Holocaust survivor in her 90s. The investigation has since expanded, with the court extending her remand. Police are continuing to examine whether there are additional victims.
