Israeli police seized approximately 80,000 shekels from the home of Yossi Mosli and a further 57,000 shekels from a person present during the search, according to police reports. A half-kilogram of marijuana was also found in an apartment where one of four suspects was staying. Mosli claimed that investigators from the Tel Aviv District's YMR unit threatened him during a Monday evening search, demanding he calm tensions or face aggressive action.
Israeli police on Wednesday reported the seizure of approximately NIS 137,000 in cash and half a kilogram of marijuana during a search of the home of Yossi Mosli, a figure in the ongoing Mosli-Jarushi crime family feud. According to police, some 80,000 shekels were found in the home and an additional 57,000 shekels were taken from a person present. A half-kilogram of marijuana was discovered in an apartment where one of the four suspects in the case was staying. One of the suspects faces a drug possession charge not for personal use, police said.
Mosli, who was not arrested, told the news outlet that investigators from the Tel Aviv District's YMR unit threatened him during the Monday evening search, saying: 'Take 3-4 days to calm the situation, if not, we will take aggressive measures.' Mosli said he asked what 'aggressive' meant, and after a half-hour conversation, the investigators told him to calm down. He replied that he was not involved and therefore could not calm anything.
The seizure comes amid a broader police crackdown on the Mosli-Jarushi feud, which has seen grenade, arson, and explosive incidents in recent weeks. Earlier this week, Mosli told a court that investigators had demanded he calm tensions, as reported by The Zioneer (Wed 11:58 Jerusalem). Police have not publicly commented on Mosli's latest allegations of threats.
