01 · THE DISPATCH

Security and Middle East correspondent Yair Goldblatt reports that radar systems in multiple areas in southern Iran and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) navy targets on Sirik Island have been struck, according to reports he cites. The claims add to a series of unverified reports about strikes on IRGC assets in southern Iran. On June 10, The Zioneer reported that radar and air defense systems were struck at an IRGC naval base. On June 11, unverified reports indicated that the IRGC naval base in Sirik was on fire, and a hacker group threatened retaliation. On June 27, Iranian opposition activists claimed a US strike on an IRGC ammunition depot in southern Iran. More recently, on July 7, Channel 14 reported that the IRGC attacked a vessel in the Strait of Hormuz. The current report from Goldblatt compiles new details on the scope of strikes, but remains based on a single source and unverified. The extent of damage and the party responsible for the strikes are not yet independently confirmed.
