01 · THE DISPATCH

Actor Robert Davi, known for roles in Die Hard, launched a blistering attack on New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Sunday over a city map that highlighted immigrant enclaves but omitted Little Italy. The map included neighborhoods such as Little Palestine, Little Egypt, and Little Africa. Davi accused Mamdani of erasing Italian-American heritage and also criticized him for previously snubbing a Catholic Church event. Following backlash from Italian-American groups, City Hall said it would update the map to include Little Italy.

The controversy comes after an earlier report on Sunday (The Zioneer, 14:11) alleging that Mamdani's administration presented a map that erased Jewish neighborhoods and renamed areas to "Little Yemen" and "Little Palestine." That report was unverified. The current map appears to be the same document, and the City Hall response confirms the map's existence and the omission of Little Italy.

Mamdani, a left-wing mayoral candidate with a record of anti-Israel statements, has faced repeated criticism from Jewish and Italian-American groups. The map's inclusion of "Little Palestine" has drawn particular attention given Mamdani's past comments opposing Israel as a Jewish state. The Zioneer has previously reported on Mamdani's remarks describing AIPAC as "monsters" and his campaign ties to Hamas-apologist influencers.
