TL;DR

Amjad Taha, a prominent Emirati commentator, sharply criticized President Trump, accusing him of betraying Israel to cover for a failed deal. Taha said that in the Middle East, Israel has become a "customer service desk" for everyone's failures, and that the test of loyalty to Israel, America's best ally, has failed.

01 · THE DISPATCH

Amjad Taha, a senior Emirati commentator often considered close to government circles in Abu Dhabi, published a sharp critique of U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday evening. Taha's statement comes amid a growing wave of criticism from Gulf analysts, conservative figures, and Israeli commentators over Trump's handling of negotiations with Iran and his recent public admonitions of Israel.

Taha wrote: "In the Middle East, Israel is like a customer service desk for everyone's failures. Now even Trump blames Israel to cover up the bad deal. The test of loyalty to your best friend, Israel, has failed. And now you want us to trust you!" The comment echoes earlier remarks by Taha, who in mid-June criticized Trump for denouncing Israel's strike in Beirut's Dahieh district, arguing that such a standard would have required Washington to retreat from confronting adversaries.

As The Zioneer reported on June 14, Taha previously accused Trump of teaching adversaries to rearm for the next round. The latest broadside reflects deepening frustration in Gulf capitals with what many see as Washington's unreliable posture toward its regional allies.
