The Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) is investigating the suspect in the September 30 attempted hijacking of a Tel Aviv-bound Flydubai flight, The Zioneer reports.
The Shin Bet has opened an investigation into the suspect who attempted to hijack a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv on September 30, according to The Zioneer Intelligence Desk.
As The Zioneer reported, the incident unfolded when the co-pilot — an Omani national — allegedly attacked the captain and attempted to seize control of the aircraft, prompting an emergency diversion to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Israeli passengers subdued the attacker after a struggle in the cockpit. The aircraft landed safely and the suspect was taken into custody.
The current investigation follows leads that have emerged in the days since the incident, including reports linking the suspect to Iran. Foreign reports have suggested a connection between Iran and Pakistan in the planning of the attempted hijacking. Israeli defense and intelligence agencies, including the Mossad and the Ministry of Transportation, are coordinating the broader inquiry.
