A Kiryat Ata court on Sunday extended the remand of a third suspect arrested in an alleged criminal hit plot, after police seized weapons from his truck. The suspect denies involvement, but Judge Eran Neve ruled that the presence of the arms near his home justifies continued detention, while noting that he may eventually be cleared if no further evidence emerges, according to N12.
A Kiryat Ata court on Sunday extended the remand of a third suspect in the alleged hit plot, following the earlier extension of two other suspects until July 14. The suspect, whose truck was found to contain weapons, denies any connection to the case. Judge Eran Neve acknowledged the possibility that the suspect may ultimately be cleared of involvement, but ruled that the proximity of the weapons to his home justifies continued detention at this stage. He added that if no investigative progress is made by the next hearing, the court would consider releasing the suspect under conditions.
As The Zioneer reported earlier, police arrested three masked suspects on suspicion they were en route to carry out a criminal hit. Officers seized two firearms, magazines, ammunition, and additional combat gear from their vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
