Two Arab citizens were shot dead overnight in separate incidents in northern Israel, as the wave of crime-related violence in Arab society continues. Muhammad Halaila, approximately 50, was killed in Deir Hanna, and Muhammad Kasab, in his 30s, was killed in Umm al-Fahm, according to N12 reporter Or Ravid.
The killings bring the number of Arab citizens killed in crime-related violence over the past eight days to 18, as The Zioneer reported earlier today that 16 had been killed in an eight-day period. The Abraham Initiatives, which tracks fatalities in Arab society, updated its tally to 152 victims since the start of 2026 — an 18% increase from 128 in the same period last year. The organization has recorded a steady rise in killings throughout the year, with previous Zioneer bulletins reporting totals of 129, 131, 142, and 146 at various points.
