The assault on Saturday night occurred in Mea Shearim, a predominantly ultra-Orthodox neighborhood where Haredi soldiers in uniform have occasionally faced hostility from residents opposed to military service. The two soldiers are members of the Hashmonaim Brigade, a combat unit established in 2022 specifically for Haredi recruits. Police intervention was required to extract them safely. No arrests have been reported, and the soldiers' medical condition was not immediately disclosed.
