Ukraine's Air Force announced it intercepted 48 out of 74 missiles and 476 out of 496 drones launched by Russia overnight, according to Asaf Rozentzweig (N12). At least nine people were killed in the capital, Kyiv.
Ukraine's Air Force reported it intercepted 48 of 74 missiles and 476 of 496 drones launched by Russia in a large-scale overnight attack, according to journalist Asaf Rozentzweig (N12) citing an official service statement. The figures — the first official Ukrainian tally for the night — were released after dawn, by which time the death toll in the capital Kyiv had risen to at least nine, higher than the five reported in earlier bulletins.
The series of updates The Zioneer published over the past hours tracked a rapidly escalating event. At 02:08 Jerusalem, the first reports Reuters cited by N12 described a combined missile-and-drone attack on Kyiv. Four subsequent versions at the same timestamp added details: first fires across the city, then a ballistic-missile component, then at least two killed and 16 wounded, and finally five killed and 34 wounded. A separate bulletin at 07:03 Jerusalem (also listed as a same-thread antecedent) confirmed the five killed and 34 wounded toll. The fresh data — including the interception numbers and the higher death toll of nine — come from this latest update, which also specifies that the attack involved 74 missiles and 496 drones, a scale not mentioned in prior reports.
The interception rate — roughly 65% for missiles and 96% for drones — is within the range of recent Ukrainian air-defense performance against combined Russian barrages, though it is higher than the multi-month low reported by The Zioneer in a separate bulletin on Mon June 15 (14:53 Jerusalem), when Ukraine intercepted only 14 of 74 missiles during a different overnight assault that also included a double-tap strike in Kharkiv. By contrast, the current figures reflect a different attack on a different night.
It remains unclear whether additional Russian missile or drone waves occurred during the same overnight window, as the Ukrainian Air Force statement did not address that question.
