Over the years I had the privilege to influence issues close to my heart, both as an MK and as Deputy Minister of Public Security. I wish to thank Yair Lapid, my fellow MKs, and the party activists for the partnership, trust, and joint work for the State of Israel. I wish success to Yesh Atid and the Together party in continuing to act with determination for the citizens of Israel.'
The resignation comes minutes after Segalovitch informed party leader Yair Lapid that he was leaving Yesh Atid and would not use his Knesset mandate while exploring a new political path, as The Zioneer reported at 22:50. Two other Yesh Atid MKs, Boaz Toporovsky and Ron Katz, also resigned from the Knesset in recent months.
Segalovitch, a former Major General in the Israel Police who founded the elite anti-corruption unit Lahav 433, has been a prominent voice on internal security matters. His departure from Yesh Atid and the Knesset leaves the party with fewer seats and opens speculation about his next political move.
