Former Minister Ze'ev Elkin said Wednesday that the world of politicians and media is one of 'give and take,' and that he never imagined such interactions could become a criminal matter. He also noted that some politicians leak security briefing details daily, which he considers harmful.
In a statement Wednesday, former Minister Ze'ev Elkin addressed the blurred lines between political-media relations and criminality. He argued that the routine exchange of favors between politicians and journalists was never considered a criminal act before the current probes. Elkin also expressed concern about leaks from security cabinet meetings, saying some colleagues do so on a daily basis.
Earlier this month, Elkin testified in court that the theory of 'favorable coverage' as bribery was unfounded, as The Zioneer has reported.
