Muhammad Harazin was a key figure in Hamas's financial infrastructure, serving as the deputy to Khader Jamasi, the head of the group's funds transfer network. According to the IDF and Shin Bet, Harazin played a critical role in managing a sophisticated financial web consisting of dozens of money exchangers across the Gaza Strip. This network was responsible for funneling tens of millions of dollars to the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas's military wing, particularly during the high-intensity conflict following the October 7 attacks. These funds were utilized to pay operative salaries and finance the planning and execution of attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF forces. Harazin was killed alongside Jamasi in a targeted Israeli airstrike in the northern Gaza Strip in June 2026. His elimination is viewed by Israeli security officials as a significant blow to Hamas's ability to maintain its military payroll and sustain its underground economy during the ongoing war.
