Ramla is a major city in central Israel, located approximately 20 kilometers east of Tel Aviv. Founded in the 8th century, it holds significant historical and strategic importance as a crossroads between the coastal plain and Jerusalem. Today, Ramla is a diverse city with a mixed Jewish and Arab population, serving as the capital of the Central District and housing key government facilities, including the district court and major Israel Prison Service (IPS) complexes.
