IDF, Shin Bet confirm strike killed Hamas Khan Younis Brigade commander, two operatives

The elimination of Muhammad Abdul Salam al-Yazour marks a significant disruption to Hamas's regional command structure in the southern Gaza Strip. According to a joint statement from the IDF and the Shin Bet, al-Yazour was a central figure in the terror group's military wing, responsible for advancing dozens of terror attacks against Israeli forces. Beyond tactical operations, military officials noted that al-Yazour was actively involved in efforts to restore Hamas's military capabilities in the Khan Younis sector.

Targeted Strike and Identification

The strike, which took place on Thursday night, utilized precision intelligence to target the senior commander. Alongside al-Yazour, the military identified Hudhaifa Muammar, a company commander within the brigade, and Muhammad Bahjat Radi as the other operatives killed. The IDF stated that its troops under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area and will continue to operate to remove immediate threats, in accordance with existing operational agreements.

This operation follows a consistent pattern of Israeli security forces targeting mid-to-senior level commanders within Hamas's regional brigades.
