The IDF released footage and details of the 401st Brigade's eight-month mission in southern Lebanon, during which troops dismantled over 1,200 Hezbollah terror infrastructure sites, including underground routes, located more than 600 weapons, and eliminated over 60 Hezbollah terrorists. The brigade commander, COL Yoav Schneider, said the operation aimed to 'prevent and push back the threat to Israeli civilians.'
The IDF Spokesperson on Sunday released footage and photos documenting the 401st Brigade Combat Team's eight-month mission in southern Lebanon, which concluded with the dismantling of over 1,200 Hezbollah terror infrastructure sites, including underground routes spanning hundreds of meters. The brigade, operating under the 91st Division, also located more than 600 weapons and eliminated over 60 Hezbollah operatives, according to the military statement.
The operation included defensive operations along the border and operations in the Security Zone in southern Lebanon to remove threats to the State of Israel, the IDF said. The underground routes were dismantled in cooperation with Yahalom (special engineering) troops.
Brigade Commander COL Yoav Schneider stated: 'Our mission was clear: to prevent and push back the threat to Israeli civilians. This was the objective we repeated to ourselves every morning and every evening. The brigade's achievements in Lebanon came at a heavy cost. We will always remember the brigade's fallen, and they will remain in our hearts forever.'
The announcement comes as Israeli forces continue operations across southern Lebanon targeting Hezbollah infrastructure. As The Zioneer reported earlier on Sunday, the 401st Brigade's mission is the latest in a series of operational conclusions by IDF units in the sector.
