Journalist Almog Boker writes that Hezbollah's rejection of the Israel-Lebanon framework agreement demonstrates the deal is bad for Hezbollah and Iran, and excellent for Israel. Boker quotes Hezbollah sources saying the Lebanese government gave Israel a power of attorney to stay in Lebanon, and that the group rejects and is not bound by the Washington framework.
Journalist Almog Boker, in a post published Friday evening, offered his assessment of the Israel-Lebanon framework agreement signed in Washington. Boker argued that Hezbollah's official rejection of the deal — in which the group said the Lebanese government granted Israel "power of attorney" to remain in Lebanese territory — proves the accord is detrimental to the terror group and Iran, and favorable for Israel. His remarks come hours after a senior Israeli official publicly detailed the tripartite framework, which aims to exclude Iran and Hezbollah from Lebanon, establish an Israeli security zone along the border, and create pilot areas for Hezbollah disarmament north and south of the Litani River. As The Zioneer reported earlier Friday, Hezbollah's first formal response called for scrapping the deal, calling it "unilateral concessions." Boker's post is an opinion piece appearing on his the source, not an official statement by Israeli authorities.
