Rescue organizations including Yad L'Achim and Lehava have contacted the 20-year-old woman from Kiryat Gat who was assaulted by her father after he discovered her relationship with an Arab man, according to journalist Daniel Amram. The groups offered to help 'save' her, but she has not responded and does not intend to cooperate, according to Amram. Instead, her bond with her partner has reportedly strengthened since the incident.
Anti-assimilation organizations reached out to the 20-year-old woman from Kiryat Gat who was assaulted by her father over her relationship with an Arab man, but she has declined their offers of help, journalist Daniel Amram reported on Monday. According to Amram, groups including Yad L'Achim and Lehava contacted her in recent days, claiming they wanted to 'rescue' and 'help' her. However, she has not responded and does not intend to cooperate; instead, her bond with her partner has reportedly grown stronger since the assault.
This development follows Amram's initial report on Friday, which detailed the father's assault on his daughter after discovering her relationship. The father told Amram he did not regret the attack, saying it came 'from deep pain.' Later on Friday, the daughter filed a police complaint and stated she would not leave her partner. The father was released after two hours of questioning and expressed no regret.
As The Zioneer previously reported, Yad L'Achim and Lehava have a history of intervening in cases involving interfaith relationships, including a dramatic rescue of a Jewish woman and her three children from a Palestinian village in Judea and Samaria earlier this month. Yad L'Achim, a right-wing nonprofit focused on combating assimilation, conducted that operation. Lehava has been similarly active.
It remains unclear whether the organizations will make further attempts to contact the woman.
