National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir approved Zichron Yaakov, the community of Elichin, and the Mevo'ot HaHermon Regional Council as eligible for personal firearms licenses. The move allows tens of thousands of additional Israelis to apply for gun licenses, continuing the expansion of the firearms reform.
The Zioneer previously reported on similar expansions to other communities, including Hadera and Rosh HaAyin, as part of Ben Gvir's broader gun reform. As of early July, Ben Gvir stated that over 280,000 Israelis have received gun licenses since the reform's expansion. The latest approvals add communities in the Haifa District, the coastal plain, and the Golan Heights area.
