He noted that Tamir had been serving reserve duty continuously since October 7, 2023, taking short breaks between rotations.
Tamir Vaknin, 33, from Eilat, served as a combat medic in the 55th Reserve Paratroopers Brigade (Battalion 2855). His funeral is scheduled for Thursday at 19:00 at the military cemetery in Eilat, with the municipality distributing flags from 18:00. Mayor Eli Lanker expressed condolences, calling Vaknin 'one of the city's finest sons.'
