A car exploded on Saharon Street in Jaffa on Sunday morning, police said. One person was evacuated with injuries to Wolfson Medical Center under their own power. Large police forces are at the scene conducting initial investigations and searching for suspects.

01 · THE DISPATCH

A second vehicle explosion struck Saharon Street in Jaffa shortly before 07:49 Jerusalem on Sunday morning, police reported. One person sustained injuries and evacuated themselves to Wolfson Medical Center. Police deployed large forces to the scene for investigation and suspect searches. As of 07:49, the cause of this blast has not been determined.

This incident follows an earlier explosion on the same street at approximately 07:30 Jerusalem, first reported by The Zioneer as a loud explosion heard by residents (version 1, Sun 07:30 Jerusalem). Within minutes, Magen David Adom reported one person unconscious (version 2, Sun 07:30 Jerusalem), and by 07:45, Zaka crews confirmed recovering a body from that vehicle (version 3, Sun 07:30 Jerusalem). The two explosions on the same street within roughly 20 minutes — the earlier one fatal, the later one causing injuries — are being treated by police as a developing security event. No official link has been confirmed, but investigators have not ruled out a connection.

Vehicle explosions in central Israel are not unprecedented. The Zioneer reported on a suspected car explosion in Netanya's Shlonsky Street on Sat Jun 13, 20:17 Jerusalem. A criminal motive was suspected in an explosion inside a vehicle in Nesher on Thu Jun 18, 23:41 Jerusalem, in which a 28-year-old was moderately wounded. A vehicle also exploded in Tira on Wed Jun 24, 16:59 Jerusalem. All remain separate incidents absent evidence of a pattern.

The cause of both Sunday morning blasts in Jaffa remains unknown. Whether they are linked has not been confirmed. No suspect has been publicly identified in either case. Further details are pending police updates.
