The command said the Strait of Hormuz remains open for commercial shipping and that over 50,000 U.S. service members remain deployed across the Middle East.

The operation aimed to reduce the threat to civilian mariners and commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, CENTCOM said, adding that the international waterway remains open and that over 50,000 U.S. service members are deployed across the Middle East.
The announcement comes amid a sustained campaign of U.S. strikes against Iran's naval and missile capabilities in the region.
