01 · THE DISPATCH

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) completed its third round of strikes on Iranian military targets overnight, striking approximately 140 targets and bringing the total to over 300 targets hit in three days, the command announced Sunday morning. The operation is part of a campaign to degrade the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' (IRGC) ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Zioneer first reported the strikes at 02:42 Jerusalem, citing a senior US official. By 02:59, CENTCOM confirmed that 140 targets had been hit overnight. At 06:43, the command concluded the third round, and by 07:55, the total surpassed 300 targets. The campaign was triggered by an IRGC attack on the Cypriot-flagged container ship GFS Galaxy in the Strait of Hormuz early Sunday, which left one crew member missing, as reported at 02:42.

The Zioneer previously reported on July 7 that CENTCOM had struck over 80 targets and 60 IRGC boats in an earlier round, and on July 9, the US military struck more than 90 targets. The current round has targeted missile sites, naval assets, air defenses, and IRGC small boats. CENTCOM noted that since early May, US forces have enabled the safe passage of over 800 merchant ships carrying about 400 million barrels of oil through the Strait of Hormuz.

No new Iranian response to the latest round has been reported. Earlier in the thread, The Zioneer reported that Iran had launched missiles toward Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, and Jordan in response to previous strikes, but those reports were unverified by independent sources at the time. The full extent of damage to Iranian military infrastructure remains unconfirmed.
