Subsequent updates outlined the objectives of protecting commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and retaliating for attacks on U.S. soldiers in Jordan.
Earlier in the campaign, The Zioneer reported on July 12 that CENTCOM completed a third round of strikes hitting 140 targets, and on July 14, a five-hour strike wave across six locations targeting naval defenses and drone sites. CENTCOM has stated that since early May, U.S. forces have enabled safe passage of around 900 merchant ships and 450 million barrels of crude oil.
